Mark Twain

The Prince and the Pauper

Принц и нищий

This production, based on Mark Twain's most famous historical novel, marks a new chapter in the creative journey of Teresa Durava and her team—their first foray into the traditions of national musical cultures.

In The Prince and the Pauper, medieval English and German music comes to life, performed by an orchestra on period instruments—including the doppia harp, bowed psaltery, hurdy-gurdy, crumhorn, rauschpfeife, bouzouki, bodhrán, and landsknecht drum—some of which are actual museum pieces.
